What is the meaning of PPR and PPS ? Fully Explained here.

We have heard many times in our schools and colleges about this word called PPR and PPS.
Now what's this? You must be very keen in knowing this.
Lets see What does it mean.

PPR which is also known as Post-Publication Review is a term used to check whole exam papers line by line in a more specific manner just like it is checked in a first attempt .

Let me explain with an example:-

Suppose I appeared for an exam for 100 marks  and after few days result appeared. I being a genius student , was expecting more than 95 marks out of 100. But on the result day, I got only 80.

But since I was confident of getting more than 95 marks, this result was shocking for me.

So What Can I do now?

The answer is simple I will apply for PPR i.e Post-Publication Review with the help of which my whole exam paper will be checked again line by line in an specific manner and if possible i will get what I was expecting.

PPS which is also known as Post-Publication Scrutiny is a term used to check whole paper marks only. In this method only Marks Calculating mistakes (if any ) will be rectified.

Let me explain with same example:-

Suppose I appeared for an exam for 100 marks  and after few days result appeared. I being a genius student , was expecting more than 95 marks out of 100. But on the result day, I got only 80 marks.

But since I was confident of getting more than 95 marks, this result was shocking for me.

So What Can I do now?

If I feel that my counting marks might be wrong then you can opt for PPS.

In this PPS case Only counting mistakes of marks (if any) will be calculated again and fresh marks will be allotted. Your whole paper will not be checked line by line. Only marks will be calculated freshly.

You must be thinking How would I know if its a Counting mistakes or Answer checking mistakes.

So the answer is simple The difference between PPR and PPS is :-

If you go for PPR then there might be a chance where your marks can be deducted if the examiner goes deeply with your answers. Some extra marks might gets deducted and some strict checking can be done. However most student prefer this method.

If you go for PPS then only counting mistake marks will be calculated and there is little chance of deduction of marks and you might earn some marks. It can be useful to those who is failed with a difference of 1-2 marks.

Hope this article clarifies the bunch of questions roaming in your mind.
